The Radisson Collection Royal Hotel wears a grid of dark glass and aluminum that rises twenty stories above the street, the first skyscraper in Copenhagen. Architect Arne Jacobsen designed every element of the building, from the structural steel frame down to the cutlery in the dining room and the velvet upholstery in the lobby. Legend says he even dictated the types of plants allowed in the windows to maintain the building's precise, minimalist silhouette against the skyline of the city.
