Boulangerie Saint François sits behind a faded, pale yellow facade, distinguished by its original wooden storefront frame and glass lettering that dates back to the early twentieth century. This bakery occupies a building that has served the neighborhood's daily bread needs for generations. In the nineteen eighties, the shop caught the attention of local preservationists who fought to keep the weathered storefront intact during a wave of modernization that swept through the old town. It still bakes its loaves in a traditional oven.
