Place des Tilleuls

park garden

Place des Tilleuls is defined by a cluster of mature linden trees that dominate the square, providing a thick canopy that filters the sunlight. In the early twentieth century, this spot served as a simple gathering point for residents of the surrounding neighborhood in Issy-les-Moulineaux. A local merchant named Gaston Lefebvre once ran a small corner grocery here, where he famously let laborers settle their tabs at the end of the month, provided they brought him news from the nearby industrial workshops.
