Embassy of Palestine, Paris

landmark

The Palestinian embassy sits behind a tall iron gate in the fifteenth arrondissement, identifiable by the Palestinian flag flying above the entrance. This building became a diplomatic mission in nineteen eighty-one, following a decree by President François Mitterrand that elevated the status of the Palestine Liberation Organization office to an official delegation. Before this, the building served as the private home of a prominent Parisian family. The stone facade remains largely unchanged from its days as a residence, concealing the modern diplomatic work inside.
