The Nea Agora in Rhodes is a hexagonal market building constructed in nineteen twenty-five during the Italian occupation. Its pale yellow walls and central courtyard feature a blend of Ottoman, Venetian, and neoclassical styles, meant to modernize the city’s trade. While it once served as the primary hub for fresh produce and livestock, the stalls now host small cafes, souvenir shops, and bakeries. The fishmongers continue to occupy the small, specialized section near the rear entrance, just as they have for decades.
