The Grande Albergo delle Rose features a salmon-pink facade with arched windows and distinct decorative moldings. Built in nineteen twenty-seven, it served as a hotel for the island’s Italian elite during the colonial period. In nineteen forty-three, the building hosted high-ranking officials for the signing of the Italian surrender during the Second World War. Today, the ground floor functions as a casino, operating behind the same sea-facing colonnade where officers once debated the fate of the Dodecanese islands.
