Bhikha Behram Well

religious

The Bhikha Behram Well sits enclosed by a distinctive iron railing and stone pillars at the busy intersection of Veer Nariman Road and MG Road. It was dug in seventeen twenty-five by a Parsi traveler named Bhikha Behram. He survived an assault by bandits in this area and built the well as an act of thanksgiving for his life. The water remains sweet and cool today, fed by a natural underground spring that has flowed through the heart of Mumbai for three centuries.
