Banaji Limji Agiary

religious

The Banaji Limji Agiary features a distinctive, bright yellow facade topped with a curved, ornate pediment that sets it apart from the surrounding commercial buildings in Kala Ghoda. Established in seventeen oh nine, this is the oldest fire temple for the Parsi community in Mumbai. Banaji Limji Asha, a wealthy merchant, founded the site after he brought the sacred fire from Gujarat. The temple houses a fire that has burned continuously for over three centuries, tended by priests behind its closed doors.
