Blue Corridor Jodhpur

The Blue Corridor sits between the houses of Gulab Sagar, defined by walls painted in a distinct, powdery cobalt pigment. Locals maintain this shade using a mixture of lime and copper sulfate, a practice that began centuries ago to repel termites and keep interiors cool during the blistering desert summers. When Rao Jodha founded Jodhpur in the fifteenth century, this area became a hub for the royal household’s staff, and the blue hue eventually signaled a residence occupied by a high-caste Brahmin family.
