Padamsar Talab

natural

Padamsar Talab holds a distinct jagged stone embankment that separates its dark water from the nearby Gulab Sagar lake. Rani Hadi, a queen of Maharaja Jaswant Singh, commissioned this reservoir in the mid-seventeenth century to provide a reliable water source for her people during the frequent desert droughts. Workers carved the basin directly into the rocky terrain, creating a catchment area that collects monsoon rains. The water remains contained within these ancient masonry walls, reflecting the towering Mehrangarh Fort above.
