Janta Sweet Home features a bright, multi-colored sign and a constant flow of people gathering near the glass display cases. It began as a small shop in nineteen thirty-four, started by Mahaveer Raj Singhvi to serve traditional Jodhpuri snacks. The business grew because of the mirchi bada, a spicy chili fritter wrapped in potato stuffing and deep-fried until golden. People wait in long lines for these fritters and for the makhaniya lassi, a thick yogurt drink topped with a heavy layer of cream.
