The Ghanta Ghar, or Clock Tower, rises over the center of Sardar Market with its sandstone arches and distinct Rajasthani carving. Maharaja Sardar Singh commissioned this structure in the late nineteenth century to serve as the heart of trade for Jodhpur. Local vendors still fill the surrounding stalls, selling everything from hand-spun textiles to crates of bright red chilies. While the market hums with the daily commerce of the city, the tower remains a fixed point for everyone gathering here.
