Sardar Market Girdikot

The Sardar Market is defined by the massive, red sandstone clock tower rising from its center. Maharaja Sardar Singh built this structure in the early twentieth century to serve as the beating heart of Jodhpur’s commerce. Local merchants still crowd the stalls today, trading everything from textiles to silver jewelry beneath the tower. During the construction, laborers hauled stone blocks by hand to reach the spire’s height, eventually completing a landmark that anchors the city’s dense, winding labyrinth of neighborhood markets.
