Ghanta Ghar Jodhpur

The Ghanta Ghar clock tower dominates the skyline with its massive, pale sandstone structure, rising high above the crowded bazaars of Jodhpur. Maharaja Sardar Singh commissioned this tower in the early twentieth century to anchor the city center. It houses a clock imported from London by the famous firm Gillette and Johnson. The local spice merchants often point to the precise chime that has regulated their trade hours for generations, serving as the official pulse of the marketplace since nineteen twelve.
