Umaid Heritage Art School

other

The Umaid Heritage Art School features a bright blue facade covered in intricate, hand-painted murals of traditional Rajasthani life. Local artist Rajesh Mathur opened the school to preserve the dying art of miniature painting, teaching neighborhood children the techniques used by royal court artists centuries ago. Instead of letting the craft fade, he turned his family home into a workspace for students. Paint pigments sit in small bowls near the entrance, and the walls show the current progress of his ongoing commissions.
