The bright, sun-drenched facade of the building on Juarez Street features oversized, surrealist sculptures that seem to spill out of the windows and climb the exterior walls. Sergio Bustamante began as a painter and architect, but he shifted his focus to these intricate bronze and ceramic figures in the nineteen seventies. Each piece reflects a whimsical, dreamlike anatomy often featuring elongated heads and sun-like faces. He opened this space to house his own works, turning the gallery into a permanent exhibit of his imagination.
