The bronze sculpture titled Origin and Destination features a massive whale tail emerging from the cobblestones, joined by the figures of a woman and a child reaching toward the ocean. Artist Matischa Teresita found the inspiration for this piece in the complex relationship between the local residents and the sea. It marks the spot where many visitors first encounter the shoreline of Puerto Vallarta. The sculpture remains a permanent fixture of the malecon, catching the light as the tide rolls in nearby.
