In Search of Reason

The bronze sculpture In Search of Reason depicts a young boy perched atop a ladder, straining toward the sky as two parent figures wait below. Sergio Bustamante created this piece in nineteen ninety-nine, placing it near the northern end of the Malecon. The sculpture represents the desire for growth and the curiosity inherent in human nature. When the original ladder was stolen in two thousand seven, locals and visitors alike demanded its return, prompting the artist to cast a replacement for the pedestal.
