Parque Lazaro Cardenas y Estacionamiento

park garden

The mosaic tiles covering almost every surface of this park define it against the surrounding concrete. Named for a former Mexican president, the plaza was redesigned in two thousand thirteen by local artist Natasha Moraga. She covered the benches, planters, and pathways in millions of hand-cut glass pieces. The work turned a quiet neighborhood square into a sprawling, permanent art installation. Residents still bring their dogs here, often stepping over images of suns and abstract patterns while the ocean breeze hits the tiles.
