Hill of the Cross Viewpoint

The Hill of the Cross Viewpoint sits atop a steep staircase, marked by a massive, weathered iron cross that stands against the skyline. It began as a small wooden marker placed by local residents in the nineteen sixties to protect the community from storms. Later, a more permanent concrete structure replaced the wood, intended as a pilgrimage site for prayers. From this height, the tangle of red-tiled roofs drops away sharply, revealing the curve of the bay and the expanse of the Pacific Ocean.
