Heksestein

The Heksestein, or Witches' Stone, rests near the site of the old gallows at Nordnes in Bergen. It is a rough, dark boulder that once served as the final resting place for women convicted of witchcraft during the seventeenth century. When the city held executions here, they chained the accused to this rock before sending them to the pyre. Anne Pedersdotter, the most famous victim of these trials, passed this stone on her way to be burned in sixteen ninety.
