Kaf Kafe Bryggen

food drink

The wooden building at Bryggen with the bold, dark red facade and large glass windows houses Kaf Kafe. It occupies a space within the historic Hanseatic wharf, where merchants once stored dried cod from the north. In nineteen fifty-five, a massive fire destroyed several structures in this row. When crews rebuilt the site, they used traditional timber construction methods to maintain the appearance of the original medieval warehouses. The smell of roasted beans now fills the area where sailors once unloaded heavy crates.
