The Unicorn Fish Restaurant features a bright, asymmetrical wooden facade that stands out sharply against the weathered stone walls of the old Bergen wharf. This building sits on a foundation of massive, tide-worn timber piles driven deep into the harbor floor during the late eighteen hundreds. Local fishermen once kept their nets here, hauling their catch directly from boats into the ground floor. Today, those same floorboards hold dining tables, and the smell of pine pitch still lingers beneath the scent of buttered cod.
