Foreshore Freeway Bridge

The Foreshore Freeway Bridge consists of two unfinished concrete roadways that stop abruptly mid-air, overlooking the Cape Town city center. Planners intended these segments to connect the national highway to the harbor in the early nineteen seventies, but construction halted when the city ran out of budget. For over fifty years, the concrete ends have remained exposed, serving as a reminder of the project's sudden abandonment. Today, the unfinished spans function primarily as a backdrop for film crews and occasional infrastructure debates.
