Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre

The Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre stands as a tall, aluminum-clad cube that seems to defy the traditional shape of a playhouse. While most theaters lock their stages behind rigid walls, this building uses a vertical design to stack its technical systems, dressing rooms, and stage machinery above and below the performance space. In two thousand nine, architect Joshua Prince-Ramus convinced his clients to move the lobby to the roof, leaving the ground floor entirely open to the street.
