Dallas Museum of Art

The Dallas Museum of Art sits under a limestone facade marked by a long, flat roofline and a recessed, glass-walled entrance. It occupies the northern edge of the downtown arts district, housing over twenty-five thousand objects spanning five millennia. In nineteen eighty-four, the museum relocated here from Fair Park to anchor this cultural corridor. When the doors opened, the collection included a massive, multi-part installation by Ellsworth Kelly, which required the construction of a custom-designed gallery space just to contain its scale.
