Nasher Sculpture Center

museum

The Nasher Sculpture Center sits behind a facade of pale travertine stone that glows in the Texas sun. Raymond Nasher, a shopping mall developer, built this place to house his private collection of twentieth-century sculpture. He worked with architect Renzo Piano to create a roof made of cast aluminum screens that filter daylight into the galleries below. Inside the main hall, you find a bronze casting of a hand by Auguste Rodin resting at the same level as the floors.
