Dealey Plaza sits at the intersection of Main, Commerce, and Elm streets in downtown Dallas. It features a triple underpass where the streets converge beneath a concrete railway bridge. The plaza served as the western gateway to the city when it opened in nineteen forty. Abraham Zapruder stood on a concrete pedestal here in nineteen sixty-three, filming the presidential motorcade with his home movie camera. His footage became the primary record of the events that unfolded in this grassy space that November afternoon.
