The Purse Building features a distinct yellow brick facade and a wide, rounded corner that anchors the street intersection. Built in nineteen oh six, this structure served as a massive showroom and warehouse for the Purse Brothers furniture company. In nineteen twelve, a spectacular fire gutted the interior, yet the exterior brickwork held firm. Workers rebuilt the floors quickly, keeping the same floor plan, which allowed the business to resume selling everything from parlor suites to iron beds within months.
