Pfarre Mariahilf

religious

The Hötting parish church features a slender, copper-covered spire that rises above the rooftops of Innsbruck. While its Baroque facade suggests centuries of local history, the current structure dates back to the late nineteenth century. Its predecessor was demolished after the foundation cracked beyond repair due to the shifting soil of the hillside. During the construction of this building, workers unearthed Roman coins, fueling local debates about whether a shrine occupied this exact plot of land long before the first chapel existed.
