Servitenkirche hl. Josef

The Servitenkirche in Innsbruck features a tall, slender facade flanked by two matching towers that rise above the Maria-Theresien-Straße. It serves as the church for the adjacent monastery, established in the early seventeenth century by Archduchess Anna of Tyrol. When her husband, Emperor Matthias, died, she dedicated her life to the order. She rests in a crypt beneath the sanctuary. Local tradition claims that during the construction, builders relied on the prayers of the monks to survive the difficult winters.
