Dyssebroen

Dyssebroen is the small, unassuming stone bridge connecting the grounds of the Hirschsprung Collection to the wider trails of Fælledparken. It takes its name from the surrounding area, known as Dyssegård, which historically held burial mounds dating back to the Bronze Age. Heinrich Hirschsprung, a wealthy tobacco manufacturer, insisted on this connection when he donated his massive art collection to the city in nineteen oh two. He wanted his paintings to remain within a landscape that felt deeply rooted in Danish earth.
