Amaliehaven

Amaliehaven features four tall, gilded bronze columns topped by glowing glass spheres that frame a direct view toward the harbor. The shipping magnate Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller gifted this garden to Copenhagen in nineteen eighty-three to serve as a link between the rococo palaces of Amalienborg and the waterfront. While the city center is defined by historic stone masonry, the designer Jean Delogne filled this space with bubbling fountains, yew hedges, and rare exotic plants that contrast sharply with the neighboring royal square.
