The Carl Hansen and Søn flagship store sits behind a long row of dark, minimalist window panes on Bredgade. Inside, the space holds dozens of Hans Wegner chairs, including the Wishbone chair with its distinctive steam-bent backrest. The company started as a small cabinetmaking workshop in Odense in nineteen oh eight. Carl Hansen focused on high-quality craftsmanship, eventually betting his entire business on a young, then-unknown furniture designer named Hans Wegner. Their partnership turned a local workshop into an international icon of Danish design.
