Designmuseum Danmark

The Designmuseum Danmark occupies a former eighteenth century royal hospital, recognizable by the sweeping, yellow-plastered facade that curves gently along the street. While the building once served patients under King Frederik the Fifth, it transitioned into a museum of decorative arts in the nineteen twenties. During the Nazi occupation of Denmark, the basement hid members of the resistance movement, who used the quiet museum halls to move between safe houses while the city remained under strict curfew outside.
