Loppen

Loppen is a weathered wooden building inside the Freetown Christiania, identifiable by the hand-painted, multicolored signs and posters plastered across its exterior walls. It occupies a former military stable from the nineteenth century, but since nineteen seventy-three, it has served as an independent concert venue. When the Danish military moved out of these barracks, locals occupied the site, turning this specific hay loft into a space for punk and experimental music. The venue keeps the original, unpolished floorboards where horses once stood.
