Pont de Levallois

The bridge you are approaching is the Pont de Levallois, a structure that spans the Seine to connect the communes of Levallois-Perret and Courbevoie. Before this bridge opened in 1924, residents who needed to cross the river here relied on small ferry boats to make the journey. The construction process was long and interrupted, beginning in 1913 before being halted and then resumed in 1920. It stands today as a significant example of early twentieth-century engineering, utilizing a mix of reinforced concrete, metal, and stone. The design includes a viaduct that continues over the land on the Courbevoie side, supported by seven distinct arches that rest on concrete piles.
