The Tölzer Kasladen features a narrow storefront crowded with shelves of yellow, grey, and blue-veined wheels of mountain cheese. This shop acts as a direct outlet for dairy farmers from the Bad Tölz region in the Bavarian Alps. In the late nineteen seventies, Hans Krenauer began bringing his curd-covered wheels down to Munich because he found the local market prices too low for the quality of his product. He parked his truck on the street here to sell directly to city residents.
