Üblacker-Häusl

The Üblacker-Häusl stands out as a small, humble farmhouse with a thatched roof, wedged tightly between the taller, modern apartment buildings of Haidhausen. It is a rare survivor of the old village life that existed here before Munich grew around it. In the nineteenth century, it served as a home for a day laborer named Georg Üblacker. He lived here while the area was still mostly fields and gardens, and the city eventually preserved the structure exactly as he left it.
