Szimpla Kert is a labyrinth of mismatched furniture, flickering film projectors, and graffiti-covered walls housed within the hollowed-out shell of a derelict apartment building. It began in two thousand two when a group of friends occupied this crumbling site to save it from demolition. They filled the empty rooms with junk shop finds and old car parts, turning a decaying structure into the city's first ruin bar. It remains a raw, unpolished space that prioritizes the spirit of improvisation over clean design.
