Turkish Bank House

The Turkish Bank House on Szervita Square features a facade covered in shimmering, colorful mosaics that depict the Tree of Life. Designed by Henrik Schodl in nineteen oh six, the building served as the headquarters for the Hungarian Turkish Bank. Its most striking detail sits high above the street, where a gold-leaf mosaic glitters in the sunlight. During the second world war, bombs destroyed much of the surrounding neighborhood, but the intricate tiles on this building largely remained intact through the reconstruction.
