Little Princess Statue

landmark

The Little Princess sits perched on the railing of the tram line, a small bronze girl wearing a crown fashioned from a newspaper cone. Sculptor Laszlo Marton created the piece in nineteen seventy-two, inspired by his young daughter who often played at dressing up in makeshift crowns and capes. While the original version was smaller and cast in stone, this larger bronze copy replaced it along the Danube bank in nineteen ninety. She gazes toward the river, waiting for the trams to pass.
