The Delhi Gate stands as a heavy stone archway, distinguished by its weathered sandstone facade and the narrow, bustling passage that once served as the primary northern entrance to Udaipur. Maharana Fateh Singh commissioned this gate in the early twentieth century to accommodate modern traffic flow while maintaining the city’s defensive layout. When the structure was completed, the Maharana famously insisted on driving his car through it first, marking the city's official transition from walled fortification to an open, accessible urban center.
