Tripoliya Gate

The Tripoliya Gate consists of three towering, cream-colored stone arches that span the road leading into the City Palace complex. Built in seventeen eleven, the name Tripoliya literally means three gates, marking the formal entrance used by the Maharana during state processions. When the rulers arrived on their elephants, they stopped here to be weighed against gold or silver, which was then distributed to the poor. The royal stable master once oversaw these heavy, iron-studded wooden doors, ensuring the passage remained clear.
