Daiji Bridge

The Daiji Bridge spans the eastern edge of Lake Pichola with heavy, arched stone masonry that holds the weight of the city traffic. It serves as a vital artery connecting the old residential quarters of Udaipur to the main thoroughfares. In the early twentieth century, the local administration constructed this crossing to replace the unreliable boat ferries that merchants and residents relied on during the monsoon season. Today, the water flows beneath its deep stone arches toward the central city palaces.
