Hanuman Ghat Temple

religious

The Hanuman Ghat Temple stands out for its stone stairs that descend directly into the murky, calm waters of Pichola Lake. Unlike the marble palaces nearby, this temple relies on raw, weathered rock and simple, heavy pillars. In the early nineteenth century, Maharana Jawan Singh commissioned these ghats to provide a sacred space for rituals along the water. According to local lore, a monk once stood on these very steps and claimed the temple anchored the spiritual protection of the entire city.
