Ghantaghar

The Ghantaghar is the clock tower that dominates the Old City skyline with its dark, weathered stone and pointed arches. Built in eighteen eighty-seven, it was commissioned by Maharana Fateh Singh to mark the golden jubilee of Queen Victoria. It stands on the site of a former grain market, serving as a public timepiece for a city that relied on its steady, mechanical chime. Workers once wound the clock by hand every day, a task that became a local tradition passed down through families.
