The Mundo de Azulejos, or World of Tiles, is a private home covered in thousands of hand-painted Mexican talavera tiles. Jorge Rubio, a local artist, began tiling the exterior walls in nineteen ninety-eight to cover up graffiti and protect the structure from the humid sea air. Each tile depicts a different pattern, flower, or historic scene, turning the residential building into a vibrant, chaotic mosaic. Rubio continued adding tiles for over a decade, documenting local stories and artistic traditions directly onto the facade.
