Beit Yehouda Synagogue Assayag

The Beit Yehouda Synagogue features a distinctive turquoise door set into a plain, whitewashed wall within the Tangier medina. Built by the Assayag family in the early twentieth century, this structure served as a private place of worship for the local Jewish community. After falling into disrepair for decades, the building underwent a full restoration, reopening in two thousand twenty-one. Today, it operates as a small museum, preserving the memory of the Jewish presence that shaped this neighborhood for generations.
