St. Andrew's Church

The bell tower of Saint Andrew's Church rises above the surrounding buildings in the shape of a square minaret. Inside, the wall behind the altar features the Lord's Prayer written in Arabic calligraphy across the plaster, surrounded by traditional Moroccan tilework. Queen Victoria granted the land for this church in eighteen ninety-four to serve the city’s growing British expatriate community. Today, it remains an active place of worship while the adjoining graveyard holds the remains of people from across the globe.
